Summer Gone?

Oh my oh my, where has the summer gone? The start back to school next week? Whew, they weren't kidding when they said time gets faster and faster the older you get!  The last few weeks have been spent school shopping, sewing, crocheting, and antiquing..........But really school already? Now i have to share my kids again......I like it better when they are mine and we can go do whatever - whenever we want.....

We went to the Brass Armadillo yesterday.....

I would have bought it if I had somewhere to wear it too....

Isn't it beautiful....It was handmade too

I had to sit down and enjoy this layout......

I almost bought this lil stool. It has so much character, but after i looked at the price tag, I decided I could make it for less, and get the colors i want.......

AWWWWW... A corner I can dig through...

This poor purple one was hidden in a corner.......

All handmade, I can not even imagine spending that much time on one project..

I absolutely fell in love with this pink rosette chandelier....

Here you can see the little rose's on the bottom...

What an idea.......vintage rolling pins on a wine rack....love it!

Can you believe I was good and did not snatch up these china pieces?????

Lastly....this chair.......Can't decide if I wanna go make and get her? She would make a nice addition to the dinning set....hummmm......

The dinning room curtains in progress..

I now trying to decide if how I want to finish them....jumbo ric rac, regular hem, or beads???? What do you think?

Of course I had to get me some shoes tooo, the kids cant have all the fun..lol

An Zak's blanky. I'm 2/3's done now! I'm enjoying sitting under this while making it, humm just might have to stretch this one out a bit..he he

Well that's all for now..

It's a BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Twelve years ago today at 3:55 pm I gave birth to my wonderful, beautiful, creative, intelligent daughter. Up till then I had two rough and tumble boys, and boy was I in for a change. Pink, dresses, ribbons, pigtails, painted toenails, tea parties, dollies, with dump trucks, pink camo, and dirt under those nails, has blossomed into  my young lady .....
Why all this......because I wound not have it any other way. The balance in the house with two big brothers watching over her, and her coming into her own self....Sometimes I find myself just sitting back and watching her and the boys grow and mature into wonderful, strong healthy young adults. I just love the ages of my children right now......Ok now I'm getting all sappy..........

Well, back to the party stuff..

Her cake...........

It's an ice cream sandwich cake. The best when its 100 degrees out..lol

The car packed with carnival games....

Her carnival party.........

We also had, tic tac toe, a putting green, coke bottle toss, bozo buckets, and many other games.

We also had a cotton candy machine.......

That would be Gamma with her mad cotton candy skills......

We had so much!

Yummo!  It was soooooo goood, and we had soooo much fun making it!
A big thank you to my ma, and brother for all their help...
Not to mention the boys and hubby for unloading and setting it all up, and reloading it all.

It's been so long.......

Where has the time gone? So little time and so many to doings.......Between working, camping, fishing, crocheting, etc......I have not been able to find the time to post..

We had a wonderful holiday on the 4th of July. Lots of good food, good people and good fireworks. Unfortunately my pictures of the fireworks didn't turn out.

But I do have this lovely photo of what happens if you don't practice firework safety........

I was hit in the leg form  a house down and over one, by an illegal firework. it was a pop bottle rocket that got me..............

This photo is a week and a half later, so you can see it got me pretty good...

We've been camping and just out at the lake a lot enjoying the weather.  Those pictures will come later.

Here's my newest project.......

My nephew wanted Husker colors for his blanky.........

This is what I have done so far, can't wait to get it done, because it's getting way to hot to be under an afghan!

Well, sorry for such a short post,
Ta ta till next time......

Market Bag.....

Hello all! I have survived my first 3 day in row stint at work. The day shift is definitely different than the night shift, at least it's a lot brighter. I'm used to functioning in dark patient rooms and halls, not the blazing sun rooms of the afternoon...lol! I've even managed to find time after work to start some projects......

Remember this......

It's now becoming.......

A lovely market bag........so excited to how it turns out..........

I did some flower arranging today.....wanna see????

Aren't they just beautiful?

This is only part of my teapot collection........

Lil M likes this picture best, cuz it looks like a row of elephant trunks...ha ha!

On the way to get fireworks, which are legal for the first time even here, I caught a little bit of what I call God's light.......

Well, off to start some serous cooking for the festivities tomorrow.....

Ripple Ta-Da!

Well, she's done! This ripple is about the only thing I've been able to work on over the last week. What with the headaches and the other flu like symptoms I was pretty much asleep 27/7.
But....here she is.....

She is absolutely beautiful! I was gonna give her away, but I've changed my mind......she's mine!
I'm gonna keep her.
Yet again a big thanks to Lucy at attic24  her patterns are so easy and well organized.

She finished out to be a generous twin blanky....Well much closer to a full size. I didn't pay any attention to which color came next, except that I didn't want to double up on any colors......

Now for my next project........

I'm thinking about doing a over the shoulder bag with this cheery yarn....Hummm...
Still pretty interesting that I'm drawn to such bright colors?????

Well, Ta ta till next time......
