Outdoor adventures!

Well, I'm at my last night off of work.. I've had a wonderful 8 days off, and I've loved every bit of it. We spent a lot of time doing outdoor activities.......Well, mainly fishing......

Aren't the goslings just adorable!

We did encounter some strange animal foot prints....

They almost look like hoof prints, but this at a little state park?

I've never seen prints like this....

We followed them for quite a while, and then to our amazement

 we found the cause.....

Ha Ha, it's my middle son J.

It was very hot out, and they begged me to jump into the lake...clothes and all.  As you can see I gave in....
We had so much fun taking pictures and texting them to Dad!

We had him wondering what the heck was in the park.....

I have started a new project.......... Here's a sneak peek....

He he......can't wait till it's done!

Too much fun!

Well, I've had the last week off of work, and there is so much to share! The first three days it rained, which normally I like, because it's good sleeping weather, but when I have precious time off......

So Lil M and I decided to bust out our 99 cent patterns and pick a project.......

And of we had so much fun making this one......

she named her Gumdrop........Awww......
We used my new vintage machine......

Ya know I was gonna clean it off and then take the picture, but then again why?  All of crafter's know our tables and machines are always piled with something to be done...right? It's a Nelco and I just love it and the way it fits in the desk it's absolutely perfect!

I'll be back to post more pictures of our adventures ....

Ta ta till next time!

Fishing

A few days ago the fam and I went fishing a the local state park. We didn't get any fishing time in camping, because the weather was so bad, so we were jones'en to get some pole and hook time in.

This is Cunningham Lake

First fish.....and the hubby caught it!

A baby Bullhead.....of coarse we practice catch and release.....

We did catch a lot of baby fishes....

My favorite time of day.....

I just love the twilight.....the way the scenery reflects off the lake.....

Here's all T,  lil M and Dad standing lake side..

 Here's J with a another fish...

You need to look way over the the left to see it.

All in all, we lost count as to how many we caught, but we had a blast. Can't wait to get out there again.
Ta ta till next time....

P.S. up to 4 comments on the candle give away! Still a couple days left, I'll post the winner later in the week.

Candle Making

So, I have been for quite a while now collecting little vintage tea cups, creamers, gravy boats, etc...for a future project. I just find them irresistible, and can't seem to pass by them when I see them. I've just had a long stretch off of work, so I decide now was the time to do something with them......Candles! Wippy!

I was a little overwhelmed at first, because of all the different waxes out there, and I haven't even tried scenting them yet. As you can see in the picture there is a teacup and creamer I've been holding onto for what it seems like forever....

I used crystal wax with those two.

Here's a gravy boat with a natural wax....

And I just love the glassware...mugs, sugar bowels,....etc. I love the way the candle flame shines through them. I will next time only fill them half full so they shine a bit more. But I do have to admit...I'm addicted!

Now what to do with them once they are done?  Should I give them away, sell them, or keep them? Or have a drawing form the comment list on this post? Oh that might work, then maybe I would get some comments....hummmm....

I'll check back in one week and see how many have commented, and if there is more than 3 then I'll draw for the winner.........Your prize shall be.....

Happy commenting!

Ta ta  till next time!

Camping

Well, the family and I went for our first camping trip of the year. I love camping, but there are a few things I detest about it.......the packing and unpacking.....ugh!  But it was well worth it.....
Isn't it beautiful?
We met up with my brother and some of his friends out a Summit state park. It's beautiful out there and the lake is huge!I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind primitive camping. However,  it was so damp and wet Saturday night , you could see the dew on the grass before sundown...

Another good use of an ironing broad....

A fish cleaning station....how clever! And of coarse the best part about primitive camping is....

Just kidding, however at least with all the cool weather they weren't too bad...yet.... Usually I do mind a porta-potty, but the closest ones were about 2 blocks away and up hill the whole way back.
Now, this is the best part about camping....

Ahhh, a nice and toasty camp fire when it's below 50 degrees overnight... when there is a fire there is smoke which means...................

Playtime in the smoke of the fire......

Oh, yeah......You know what comes next.....can you hear the theme music for Star Wars yet?

Battle royal in the camp smoke......gotta love them teen boys!

T has become a tent whisperer....Bless his soul, it took him 3 times to fold that tent, but he did it! We planned on staying 2 nights but I have to admit I couldn't make it another night. It was way to wet and cold out there...We'll go again soon..
Ta..ta till next time......

Last day of School!

Yeah! It's the last day of school for my teens. As I sit at my youngest 6Th grade graduation I start to ponder the last year......Can't believe I now have Senior? and no more in grammar school? As of the end of today, I have a 12th, 10th, and a 7th grader. Oh, where does the time go?  It's been a new chapter in parenthood with the teens, and so far I'm enjoying the ride. I'm kinda scared to say, I think I like this stage? Now that I've said that, I think it's gonna come to bite me?  So far, I've gone through one son driving on his own, to teaching another how to drive, first girlfriends....both of them passing me up in height and one even taller than Dad now.... to the awkwardness of trying to find an age appropriate swim suite for lil M, and all the lovies that come with young ladies.....Thank you teens for acheiving so much this last year and being such darn good kids!

Untill next time...Ta ta!
